Frequently Asked Questions

General

Where did the name come from?
It’s not as inspiring as you’d think… we used a random-agency-name-generator and it was the first thing that came out. We couldn’t stop giggling and it just stuck!
What does Chunky Duck actually do?
We are a full-service digital agency specialising in strategy, creative, web design, PPC, SEO, and the nitty-gritty of analytics and tracking.
Where are you located?
We are a 100% remote agency, with our team located all across Australia. We believe the days of corporate offices and all-hands meetings are dead.
Do you outsource work overseas?
Nope. We are independent and committed to keeping our work within Australia to ensure the best results for our clients.
What is your ownership structure?
We are an independent, Australian-owned and operated agency; no overseas holding companies here.
Do you have lock in contracts?
No. We’re here to be your partners, not your wardens. Expect honest talk, clear data, and the freedom to fly whenever you choose.
What is the “Noosa Migration”?
As you will already know, ducks migrate. The Noosa Migration is our annual team gathering where ducklings have their say and help refine the direction and framework of the agency.

Services

What type of businesses do you work with?
We work with a whole range of start ups and small businesses through to major enterprises. Our best results are most often with clients looking to break through into the next level of growth.
Do you have a minimum budget?
Minimum budgets are often based on the specific service we are providing. We provide ballpark estimates for our work on your first phone call with us, and a detailed quote in the subsequent meetings.
How long does it take to get started?
Our lead time for new clients is around two weeks, with our onboarding process commencing once we’re in agreement on the terms and scope of our engagement.
Do you offer “cookie-cutter” marketing packages?
Nope. We avoid the “one-size-fits-all” approach. Every strategy is tailored to your specific brand goals and performance data.
Do you use AI in delivering your services?
Somewhat, we use AI-based workflows throughout our agency, but these are primarily focused on admin tasks like meeting notes. If we ever plan to use AI within your service delivery, we’ll let you know ahead of time.
Can you work with our internal team or agency?
Yes, we are more than happy to work with the team and resources you already have. Our service model is designed to fill your gaps in specialist/technical expertise, and leave you to handle the rest.
Can you work with distributed/hybrid teams?
Yes, we utilise asynchronous communication across our agency and with our clients. This enables anyone to work at a time that suits them best, and ensures no one is disadvantaged by not being in the office.

All Chunky Duck employees acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land where we work and live. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders of all communities who also work and live on this land.
